Winter Daughter is an impressive film about growing up and the search for identity. 12-year-old Kattaka lives with her family in Berlin and is a passionate speed swimmer. She embarks on a journey to Poland to find her biological father. Initially enraged that her parents had not told her about her true identity, she eventually learns things beyond her own experience. She learns to understand and support others as she learns uncomfortable truths, not only about herself, but also about the devastating impact of World War II on the Polish community.
