Description

The experiment conducted by psychologist Stanley Milgram in 1961 was intended to show the extent to which ordinary people are prepared to inflict physical harm on other people at the behest of an authority (in this case a “scientific” one). It was intended to understand how hundreds of thousands of people could allow themselves to be instrumentalized to commit crimes in the service of National Socialism.
