Theater der Keller

Several hundred thousand people have fled to Germany from the war in Ukraine. One of them is Andriy May. The theatre director, founder of the Vsevolod Meyerhold Centre in Kherson and curator of the international theatre festival Document, was allowed to leave Ukraine as a single father and has found refuge in Cologne. At Theater der Keller, together with a Ukrainian-German ensemble, he will explore the effects of the war on all of us and develop the theatre performance PUTINPROZESS: It began on 24 February 2022 ... No, it began before that. PUTIN PROCESS explores the impact of a modern totalitarian system on each of us, no matter what our background or where we live. PUTIN PROCESS explores the emergence of "little Putin" in the lives of everyone and its devastating consequences.

Ukrainian director Andriy May has created a very personal play with Ukrainian and German actors and actresses that is not a tribunal but explores the impact of war on us all.
