Sudan Cinema Collage CC1907
As part of the Sudan Cinema Collage CC 1907 project, a 24-day training program was held in 2022 to provide a platform for young filmmakers to develop their skills and knowledge. These workshops, organized by the Goethe-Institut, led to the production of a total of 19 short documentaries. The short films highlight different aspects of Sudanese culture, Sudanese traditions and topics of everyday life. The film program will be accompanied by discussions with actors from the Sudanese film scene.
Alarming political circumstances continue to prevail in Sudan, leaving civil society, including artists and cultural actors, in an insecure and unstable reality. Due to the ongoing civil war, the short film program Sudan Cinema Collage CC 1907 could not be shown in Sudan as planned. Instead, the film program was shown for the first time in Cairo in November 2023 and we are pleased to be able to present the selection curated by Jasour Abualgasim in Berlin.
