Afghan cuisine provided by Kabul Nights

Traditionally, food in Afghanistan is spread on a cloth on the floor, around which the eaters place themselves in a circle. In the midst of insecurity and conflict, these kinds of communal rituals become a refuge for the preservation and transmission of culture. As a social practice, they serve as a unifying element that brings families and communities together and strengthens their identity.

At a time when people are often forced to leave their homes and build new lives in foreign lands, Afghan food plays a crucial role in preserving social security and cultural identity. It creates a piece of home away from home and serves as a bridge between past, present and future.

To emphasise the culinary, but also the social significance of Afghan food, the Berlin-based Afghan restaurant "Kabul Night" will enrich the festival with culinary delights. Visitors will be offered a variety of Afghan dishes (vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions). Visitors to the festival are invited to try a selection of these dishes on the opening evening. On Saturday and Sunday, in addition to the traditional rice dish qabuli, finger food such as ashak, manto or samose and various desserts such as halwai zafroni and ferni can be purchased on site.

The tea station also offers all visitors the opportunity to enjoy Afghan green tea.
