With the ambitious aim to design AI-enhanced media literacy training for libraries across Europe, this workshop marked the start of the work on delivering the final project's product, the methodology.

The session fostered the dialogue on how AI can support critical thinking and digital literacy in an era of information overload and how to create an effective methodology framework that will not succumb to the velocity of AI development.

The two days of brainstorming sessions were marked by hands-on AI demonstrations by FARI experts and group discussions. The consortium explored challenges such as disinformation, algorithmic bias, change management, and the role of libraries as trusted information and knowledge centres for citizens. Six librarians started the journey of becoming AI ambassadors within their libraries, taking the responsible role of forwarding this knowledge to their colleagues and networks. One of the key takeaways was realising the potential of cross-sector collaboration to shape policy recommendations for integrating AI into library services.

The insights gathered are crucial for developing LIBRA.I.’s methodology framework in the upcoming months and for the preparation of the first specialised workshop in Riga in May 2025.
