The Philippines

15th Edition

The Science Film Festival Philippines, now celebrating its 15th year, will take place from October 18 to December 1, 2024. Recognized as one of the country’s largest and longest-running science events, this year’s festival features 35 films focused on the themes of Net Zero and the Circular Economy.

The festival will commence with an opening program on October 18, 2024, at the National Library of the Philippines, in partnership with our long-time collaborator. This event will feature selected students and other key stakeholders. Additionally, the films will be presented at the Tumba Tumba Children's Museum of Philippine Art in Batangas, as well as during the STEAM Week celebration at the Philippine Science High School Western Visayas Campus—both events taking place outside the capital of Manila.

In addition to online screenings, onsite viewings will be held from October 19 to December 1, 2024. Our venue partners include Museo ng Muntinlupa, the National Library of the Philippines AND OTHER AFFILIATED CITY LIBRARIES, various Philippine Science High Schools, PARTNER SCHOOLS AND ORGANIZATIONS OF the DOST Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), the University of the Philippines Film Institute (UPFI), the University of the Philippines Department of Science Communication (UPCDC), The Mind Museum, and Tumba Tumba Children's Museum of Philippine Art. Screenings at selected public schools and science high schools nationwide are being organized by the Department of Education and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). Rolls-Royce is a key partner of the Science Film Festival in Southeast Asia.
