Specific Terms of Use for the Theatre Library
To download translations from the Theatre Library, you need a Mein Goethe.de-Account. To create the account, you must first register. The personal data thus collected are stored by the Goethe-Institut e. V.
In addition, your usage data is stored for the purpose of implementing the contract and protecting copyrights to the respective work; the legal basis is Art. 6 para 1 b) GDPR. This makes it possible to trace the play and the language of translation that you downloaded at a specific time.
The Goethe-Institut e.V. also forwards this information to the respective publisher as the rights holder of the works; the legal basis is Art. 6 para 1 f) GDPR.
Your usage data will be deleted from the Goethe-Institut’s database after 12 months by anonymizing. The publisher will also delete the data after 12 months.
Your Mein Goethe.de-Account will be retained for further use of the Theatre Library and other services of the Goethe-Institut.

Important information about the rights to the work
Before downloading the translations, please take note of the following information and contractual conditions.
- The translated work sent to you as a file is a sample copy. Apart from printing a single copy, you may not reproduce, sell, loan, or otherwise distribute it in any way.
- All rights to the original work and its translation are reserved to the respective rights holders. This applies in particular to the right of performance by professional and/or amateur theatres, public lectures, broadcasts, further processing by filming, setting to music and other translations, and duplication and distribution, regardless of whether in whole or in part.
- All of the aforementioned rights are to be acquired from the publisher of the original work and the translator or his publisher. You will find the necessary information on the title page of each manuscript.
- In the event that the work sent to you by the Goethe-Institut is used, we ask you to ensure that the organizer includes the following information in a clearly visible place in all publications (print and digital) in connection with the translated work (especially program booklets):
