On November 21, the Goethe-Institut invited to an evening event with panel discussion and expert exchange, focusing on the question of what is needed for the successful arrival of immigrants and their families, also against the backdrop of the amended Skilled Immigration Act for qualified professionals, and what contribution the Goethe-Institut's services in the area of pre-integration and transition management can make here.

The project “Pre-Integration and Transition Management – Ensuring a Successful Migration Process” of the Goethe-Institut, co-funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, has started in May 2023 with an extended scope. With the new term, there is an interlocking of activities in Germany and abroad, whereby new immigrants can be accompanied in a targeted manner throughout the entire migration process - from the country of origin to the integration offers of the federal government. In addition, the project is to be placed in a broader social and political context. A panel discussion with guests from politics, research and civil society is planned for this purpose.

The change in the law is linked to many expectations on the part of business, politics and people from abroad who are interested in living in Germany. The aim of this event is to bring together partners in the field of migration and skilled labor immigration, to provide concrete insights into the project "Pre-Integration and Transition Management" of the Goethe-Institut, to make expectations visible with regard to skilled labor immigration, to subject them to a reality check and to formulate needs for action in order to make the migration process successful and sustainable.
