Subject matter of the contract
The subject matter of the contract is the free use of the website as an information platform (“service”).Services of the Goethe-Institut
Despite utilizing high-quality certificates, forgeries can never be completely ruled out. The Goethe-Institut therefore created this website, which allows the verification of Goethe certificates free of charge. All Goethe certificates A1-C2 issued by a Goethe-Institut examination center can be verified on this website. The purpose of this website is to verify the authenticity of Goethe certificates. Users will receive immediate information about this after entering the certificate data.
Users visit the website www.goethe.de/verify. They enter the following details of the relevant certificate in the fields provided: Date of birth, certificate number and date of issue. Hereafter they click on the “Check” button.
A response marked in green indicates that the data provided is correct. It confirms that a certificate with these three personal details has been issued by the Goethe-Institut. During a second step, the user needs to compare some additional information, which has now been made available, with the certificate at hand. If not all details match, the Goethe-Institut should be contacted at pruefungen@goethe.de with a scan of the relevant certificate.
If the response “Certificate invalid” is received, a scan of the certificate should be sent to pruefungen@goethe.de for further review.
The Goethe-Institut operates the platform as part of its duties.
This website is not intended for the general exchange of opinions, the self-presentation of users or for entertainment purposes.
