We award two scholarships and they include:
- 15 days of tuition at a Goethe-Institut in Germany of your choice - Have a look at the Goethe-Institutes in Germany here
- EUR 1000travel allowance
- Accommodation (Berlin, Dresden, Freiburg - other locations subject to availability)
- Half board (includes breakfast and lunch or dinner)
- Travel insurance
Showcase your passion for German and win one of two scholarships to Germany. Get your cameras ready because we're launching a thrilling photo contest for you!
Choose from the following three photo prompts or submit up to 10 photos for all three:
1. What inspired you to start learning German? Maybe it was a fabulous trip overseas or some chance meeting with a special person? Is it maybe a German book or an artwork that got stuck in your head?
2. What motivates you to keep going? Hopefully this has to do with some excellent teachers - but maybe you found some interesting likeminded people in your group of learners? Or is it a job in a German company that is now in arm´s reach?
3. Where is your favourite spot to learn German? Since our courses come with an online component, learning can happen literally anywhere. Show us a cozy corner that you hide in with your laptop or maybe it´s the tram seat on the way to work?
Each submitted photo counts as one entry to our scholarships. One scholarship will be a lucky draw out of all submissions, one scholarship will be chosen by a jury and is based on how unique, funny or beautiful your entry is.

- The scholarship is not open to German citizens.
- The applicant's main residence must be in Australia.
- The winner must complete their scholarship before 31.12.2024.
- The scholarship applicant must be enrolled in a 10-week, 5-week or 18-week course at the Goethe-Institut Australia in Term 2/2024.
- The scholarship applicant must previously have completed two German language courses (10-week, 5-week or 18-week course) at the Goethe-Institut Australia.
- The scholarship applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
