To mark the end of the year, we are presenting some of the best children's and youth films of recent years from November 15 to December 20 and invite you and your German class to free online screenings of the films AMELIE RENNT, CHECKER TOBI UND DIE REISE ZU DEN FLIEGENDEN FLÜSSEN and INTO THE BEAT at your school.

Amelie rennt

The 13-year-old Amelie, who grew up in Berlin, has to take a medical cure in the mountainous South Tyrol after a violent asthma attack. She strives against her environment and the set treatments, as she rejects the disease and related care. Despite further attaks, she embarks on a multi-day and hard ascent to the summit cross, which is accompanied by Bart, a young enigmatic cow herder from the village, who makes her purpose possible.

Checker Tobi und die Reise zu den fliegenden Flüssen

Checker Tobi has received a secret treasure chest. In order to open it, he has to go on a journey. The journey takes him to Vietnam to the largest cave in the world, to the famous Halong Bay, across the stormy South China Sea to nomads in the Mongolian steppe and finally to Brazil in the Amazon rainforest. Checker Tobi gets to know many people along the way, but he also learns in all places how much the environment is in danger.

Into the beat

Katya is at a turning point. She has taken ballet lessons diligently since early childhood and has become a promising young dancer. She has always fulfilled the expectations of her father who is a famous ballet dancer himself.
But when she meets a street dance group, she begins to have doubts. Street dance suddenly feels much more real and free than ballet. Now she has to decide between the dance styles and between her own ideas and those of her father.
