On this page we will show you how to install and set up the Onleihe app for Android. You need the app to use our digital library Onleihe with more than 23,000 German-language media on your mobile phone or tablet.
You can find the instructions for iOS devices under Installing the Onleihe app for iOS.

STEP 1: REGISTER AT MY GOETHE.DE

To use the eLibrary, you need to register via our website Mein Goethe.de. If you do not yet have an account on our website, please register.
Registration and use of the service are free of charge.

STEP 2: ACTIVATE ONLEIHE

After registering at Mein Goethe.de, go to the menu item "Onleihe" and click on "Anmelden".

STEP 3: DOWNLOAD THE APP

Now download the app to use the eLibrary on your smartphone or tablet. Open the app after installation.

STEP 4: REGISTRATION

Open the Onleihe app menu (top left).

Select Goethe-Institut as the library.
Log in with your MeinGoethe.de login details.

STEP 5: DOWNLOAD MEDIUM

You are now logged in! Select the menu item "Browse" to search for and download media.

STEP 6: ACCEPT TERMS OF USE

When you download a medium for the first time, you will automatically be asked to accept the privacy policy and the terms of use. Please confirm your agreement.
