General conditions for participation

The course is counted in teaching units. One teaching unit (hereinafter UE) corresponds to 45 minutes. The minimum amount of a booking is 10 UE x 45 minutes (corresponds to 7.5 x 60 minutes or 5 x 90 minutes). From a one-time order of 60 teaching units or more, you will receive a 10% discount on the booking price.

The provisional course planning (day, time, course start and frequency) is agreed with the language course office. The actual course planning may differ from your wishes on the booking form, but in this case it will be determined together with you.

The courses take place in the form of virtual lessons (video conference) or as a face-to-face course at the Goethe-Institut Brussels (Rue Belliardstraat 58, 1040 Brussels) or in the rooms of the course instructor(s). If the course is held on the course instructor's premises, additional travel costs may be incurred, depending on the distance.

For didactic reasons, it is recommended to arrange at least two units per week. With regard to the didactic objective, it is important to adhere to the course schedule as much as possible, especially the regularity of the dates. All booked units should be completed within one year.

If the scheduled course planning cannot be adhered to or a class date has to be cancelled, course participants are requested to contact the responsible teacher directly at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, the appointment will be charged. A maximum of 2 cancellations in direct succession is permitted.

If course participants arrive late for the agreed lessons, the teacher is not obliged to wait longer than 20 minutes. In any case, the lesson will end at the agreed time and will be charged in full.

In the event that the teacher is unable to hold the lesson, the language course office will endeavour to find a substitute in order to ensure the progress of the course. Course participants also have the option of waiting for their own teacher to return.

After the course, it is possible to receive a written assessment of the course participants' learning status from the language course office of the Goethe-Institut Brussels. You can request this in the further course of the booking before the course starts.
