Trainee (m/f/d) in the cultural programmes department

The Cultural Programmes Department of the Goethe-Institut Brussels is looking for a full-time (38h/week) trainee (m/f/d) from 15 September 2024 as part of a CIP (Convention d'immersion professionelle) with a fixed term until 31 December 2024 (with the possibility of extension).

What awaits you 

  • Planning, preparation and realisation of cultural events of the Goethe-Institut Brussels, in particular the following: ‘Slow Touring with LIE NING’ (working title) in collaboration with Vaartkapoen, “European Enlightenment - Productive Undoing is a Difficult Task” (working title) in collaboration with Beursschouwburg, Comic-and-Graphic Novel Residency with Nino Bulling in collaboration with Grafixx Antwerp, Retrospective Ulrike Ottinger in collaboration with CINEMATEK, “Africa is/in the Future” in collaboration with La Bellone and others. 
  • Participation in public relations work 
  • Writing and translating the programme announcements of the Goethe-Institut Brussels 
  • Correspondence in the languages: English; Dutch or French and, if necessary, German
  • Processing of project enquiries
  • Submission of applications and reporting
 

What sets you apart

  • Relevant university degree
  • Experience in cultural management
  • Active interest in contemporary art and culture 
  • Experience of working with Belgian partners
  • Excellent knowledge of English, French or Dutch
  • Ability to work in a team, ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours
  • Knowledge of office organisation and common office software

You will receive an allowance of between €823 and €1,035, depending on your age, in accordance with Belgian labour law, which is not subject to social security contributions or taxes.
