As the daughter of Aruba-born multi-instrumentalist Wally Warning, the young singer-songwriter Ami Warning discovered her passion for music already in her childhood. As a teenager, the Munich native played bass in her father's band. Later, she taught herself to play guitar and began composing her own songs, which are stylistically oriented towards the genres of pop, soul and reggae.
With her songs about life, its facets, its ups and downs, Ami creates a familiar closeness to her audience.
In 2014, her debut album Part of me was released. Seasons, the second album, was released in 2016 and stands out musically from its reggae- and blues-tinged predecessor. In 2019, she released Momentan, her first completely German-language album. In October 2021, her single Blaue Augen was released and the following January her new album Kurz vorm Ende der Welt. Not so much a classic album, but rather a mixtape. The slow beats are reminiscent of the Golden Era of 90s hip hop, but reggae and latin also shimmer through in the reduced and unpolished instrumentals. But above all, they leave room for Ami's strong vocals voice, which by themselves are capable of so much — soft and unwavering at the same time. A mixtape full of snapshots.
