Press Releases 2019 18 October 2019 Berlinale Selection 2019 A new film series by the Goethe-Institut Cyprus With the Berlinale Selection 2019 taking place from 5 to 30 November 2019, the Goethe-Institut Cyprus is launching a new film series presenting a selection of the best German language films from the most prestigious German film festival – the Berlinale. The film series gives the opportunity to audiences in Cyprus to get to know the best works in German contemporary cinema, with a focus on current winners of this German film award. 28 August 2019 Games And Politics Exhibition, Live Playthroughs, Screenings, Discussions Games and Politics is a series of events by the Goethe-Institut Cyprus, which deals with the role and relevance of games and gaming in society. It comprises an interactive exhibition of 18 computer games and three documentaries addressing current social issues. Furthermore, three different film screenings will shed light on various aspects of gaming while at "playthrough" evenings, the audience will have the possibility, to discuss with Cypriot and German experts about the game being played live. 12 June 2019 The International School of Paphos (ISOP) joined the network "Schools: Partners for the Future" (PASCH) On Tuesday 11 June 2019 the Old Powerhouse in Paphos was filled with students and their families, political figures, as well as personalities from the education and cultural scene of the island, who made the celebration of ISOP joining the global PASCH network a great success with their presence. The film is a comprehensive portrayal of the Bauhaus school and its principles, which are still considered modern, 100 years later.
