Your Partner for Language and Training Programmes

We see ourselves as bridge-builders between your employees’ home countries and Germany. With our comprehensive range of services — from German courses and exams to integration programmes — we prepare apprentices and skilled workers for their new life and workplace immediately from their home countries.

The Goethe-Institutes abroad and in Germany work closely together to ensure seamless support. Our goal is to meet the individual needs of each person and enable a smooth start in Germany.

Thanks to our strong network and reliable cooperative partners, we are able to create a solid foundation for successful skilled worker migration. Together, let’s build the bridge that will lead your skilled workers to a promising future in Germany.

Language and Cultural Mediation in the Home Country

For more than 70 years, we have served as your reliable partner in promoting the German language and culture. With a network of 151 institutes in 98 countries, we offer German courses and exams around the world at all levels. Our recognised certificates serve as valid proof of language proficiency for visa applications and professional recognition in Germany.

Together with our cooperative partners, we support skilled workers on their path to Germany. Our involvement starts in their home countries through projects such as:

Fit for the German Labour Market (FIMA)

The Fit for the German Labour Market (Fit für den deutschen Arbeitsmarkt/FIMA) project offers skilled workers in the fields of healthcare, gastronomy, electrical engineering, education and (landscape) construction free language and intercultural preparation up to the language level A2.

Apprenticeship Partnerships with Schools in Latin America (APAL)

The Apprenticeship Partnerships with Schools in Latin America (Ausbildungspartnerschaften mit Schulen in Lateinamerika/APAL) programme prepares students and alumni from schools supported by the Goethe-Institut linguistically and interculturally for their apprenticeship in Germany. It can be supplemented with free FIMA courses and exams up to language level A2.

Trabajadores Colombianos Especializados para Alemania (TEAM)

TEAM is a project from the German Federal Employment Agency that supports qualified skilled workers in electronics, IT system electronics and horticulture with their migration to Germany. As part of the TEAM programme, FIMA courses and exams can be taken free of charge up to language level A2.
