Facilities supervisor

The Goethe-Institute e.V. is the globally active cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. We promote cultural exchange, education and social discourse in an international context and support the teaching and learning of the German language. The Goethe-Institute Cairo is the regional institute of the MENA region.

We are looking for a dedicated employee starting on July 1st, 2024, as a Facilities supervisor. The position is a 100% full-time position (currently 40 hours per week), limited for one year, with the option of extension.

Brief Description of Tasks:

• Carrying out regular inspections of buildings to identify and rectify potential problems at an early stage.
• Carrying out minor repairs to electrical systems, plumbing, doors, windows, lighting systems, etc.
• Supervising external tradesmen and service providers for major repairs or renovation work.
• Support in the coordination of technical issues and maintenance orders in the property.
• Support with logistical preparation and realization of events in shifts at the institute.
• If necessary, other tasks in consultation with the Head of Internal Services and Technology.

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of English and/or German/ level A1
• Technical and construction experience in the property sector
• Ability to work carefully, focused and independently
• High flexibility, ability to work in a team
• Friendly and self-confident demeanor
• Willingness and ability to learn
• Organizational skills

Remuneration and benefits are based on the remuneration scheme of the Goethe- Institute Cairo.
