Step 1: Are you already a member of the library?

You can find out about the terms of use of the library on our website. The library team can also inform you during a personal visit. If you are already a member of the library, you can go straight to step 2.

Step 2: Have you already registered on My Goethe.de?

If you have not yet registered on My Goethe.de, you can now easily set up an account online . Your log-in data from My Goethe.de will be used to log in to the online catalogue. In addition, with My Goethe.de you can also use all other personalized online offers of the Goethe-Institut in the fields of language, culture and library. If you have previously registered on My Goethe.de, you do not need to register again. Please proceed directly to step 3.

Step 3: Get activated!

In order to activate your account, the library team requires the e-mail address with which you registered on My Goethe.de. Please fill in our registration form and send it to the library. After submitting the form, the library team will inform you as soon as your use of the library's online catalog has been activated. Normally, the activation is completed within two working days.

Registration on online catalogue of the library

In our online catalogue (OPAC) you can search for media offered by us around the clock and get an overview of the books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and electronic resources that are in our collection.

If you are a member of the library you can also sign in to the online catalog using your account. The personalized use of OPAC offers you the following advantages:

Display media you borrowed including due date
Extension of the loan period of your media.
Insight into your unpaid and paid fees
Submission of purchase proposals of media for the library
Commenting on media
An overview of the media you have borrowed in the past

In order to use the personalized features of our online catalog, you need a library membership and a free registration on Mein Goethe.de.
