Biography Ashenafe Mestika
Ashenafe Mestika (b. 1987 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) is an Ethiopian-based visual artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Addis Ababa University Alle School of Fine Art & Design, as well as a 10+3 Diploma in fine art, specializing in painting, from Entoto Polytechnic College in 2010. His figurative artworks focus on social-political happenstance and memories.
Ashenafe uses painting, drawing, and photography as a means of self-expression. He considers himself a figure enthusiast, and as such, human figures are central to his work. Over the course of his career as a visual artist, Ashenafe’s works have been showcased in solo and group exhibitions, in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Germany, and the UAE.
