Initiated by the Goethe-Institut in 2022, “
Water in Ethiopia” was a long-term project that experimented with visual storytelling techniques to highlight Ethiopian stories around the topic of “Water”. The group photography exhibition “Water in Ethiopia” at the Modern Art Museum, Gebre Kristos Desta Centre was open for the public between 12 January and 9 February 2024 will feature original works by
Abenezer Tefera,
Ashenafe Mestika,
Bemnet Fekadu,
Carlo Ertola,
Dawit Teshome,
Mekdes Ababu and
Mikiyas Alemayehu.
The exhibition is the culmination of a project that invited seven Ethiopian photographers to hone their visual storytelling skills through workshops and field trips across Ethiopia between 2022 and 2023, with the guidance of
Andy Spyra, a German photojournalist internationally renowned for his work.
