Steven Uhly

(born: 06.06.1964 in Köln), Author, Translator

After training as an interpreter and translator, Steven Uhly studied German Literature, and Spanish and Portuguese Literature and Language in Cologne, Bonn and Lisbon. After completing his doctorate, he went to Brazil, where he headed the German Institute at the University of Belém. He also taught in Porto Alegre and at the University's Romance Studies Institute in Munich. In addition to his literary work, he translates poetry and prose from Spanish, Portuguese and English. His debut novel Mein Leben in Aspik was published in 2010. The successor novel Adams Fuge was awarded the Tukan Prize. Steven Uhly lives in Munich.
