Online quiz on Europe “that’s eUrope“ with St Brendan’s Sixth Form College

The quiz that's eUrope is recommended to be used in class with students aged 16 onwards, and thus was ideal for the students from St Brendan’s.

During each session, every question or answer is explained briefly and concisely by the help of a short video or text. Thus, taking part in the quiz guarantees a large increase in knowledge for participating students.

The quiz duel can be played free of charge in the second round of the game from January 18 to July 30 2021.

Due to its availability in both the German and the English language, it is possible and highly recommended for participating schools to play against their partner school from Germany in German!

As part of the PASCH initiative, the German A-level and Goethe-Zertifikat B1 students of St Brendan’s Sixth Form College in Bristol have recently taken part in this great offer.

Prior to the online quiz, students had prepared very well for it and had also read extensively about the European Union and especially Germany`s role.  The virtual quiz itself was conducted in German.

St Brendan’s college had two teams taking part, with the Year 12 team playing against BS11, a Sixth Form College from Berlin.  It was a very tight battle with both teams coming to a draw, and qualifying directly to the pool of winning teams.

The Year 13 team played against a grammar school from Uetze, and won the quiz with an impressive score of 16 – 9, also qualifying directly to the pool of winning teams.

Well done to all the German A-level and Goethe-Zertifikat students for their wonderful achievement and to their very enthusiastic teacher, Carmen Schembri-Wismayer, for enabling her students to share views and perspectives on Europe and Germany with other learners from Germany!
