German culture and film Waiting List Only: Special German Day: A Level Day with King’s College London

Key stage 5 – at least two years of German lessons

Come join us for a special A Level German Day during German Week 2025! The Goethe-Institut London has teamed up with King’s College London to offer an exciting insight into contemporary German culture and film:

Through talks and workshops, participants will learn more about modern German immigration history, focusing on Turkish-German perspectives through various workshop activities, discussions and a film viewing.

The day will look as follows:

• Setting the scene: Talk/workshop on modern German history with Katrin Schreiter and Áine McMurtry
• Exclusive film viewing: “Es brennt” by Erol Afsin (Important note: This film includes depiction of racist abuse, violence (non graphic but indicated), and derogatory racist language): ES BRENNT Trailer I Neues Deutsches Kino I FFMUC 2023
• Understanding and Reflecting: Workshops and retrospective with Lizzie Stewart and Áine McMurtry.

 

Cost

We ask for a fee of 5 GBP per student. Accompanying teachers will attend for free.
