Communication in the German Classroom

In this seminar, you will examine the advantages of a lower speaking rate for the teacher and for the learners in German lessons. You will learn strategies to effectively increase the amount of speaking your students do in class. Trying out and applying cooperative and participant-activating forms of learning will enable you to specifically promote your learners' speaking skills. This allows you to place communication and interaction between learners at the centre of your lessons.

Speaker: Naomi Schönhagen
Naomi Schönhagen has been working in the field of German as a foreign language (DaF) since 2009, including as a teacher at the Goethe Institute and in schools. She specialises in the development and use of online materials and in the area of German Language Learning (DLL). It is particularly important to her that the learners are at the centre of the teaching process and actively participate.
