EU4Dialogue/ Goethe-Institut Georgien / Frankfurter Buchmesse


In the framework of the project EU4Dialogue, the Goethe-Institut Georgien, in cooperation with the Frankfurter Buchmesse, is calling for a professional programme for publishers.
An intensive training and networking programme is designed for publishers, editors, and literary agents from the South Caucasus and the Republic of Moldova including conflict-affected regions. The programme will be held in Frankfurt at the Frankfurt Book Fair from October 16-20, 2023.
Participation requirements are at least one year of professional publishing experience and knowledge of the English language.

EU4Dialogue is a project financed by the European Union, running from May 2021 to April 2025 in the South Caucasus and the Republic of Moldova. It fosters educational and cultural exchange between professionals, students, and artists, with a special focus on overcoming existing divides.

What is offered?

  • Exchange of information between participating countries/regions online and on-site
  • Professional dialog between the participating parties and foreign book professionals
  • Building the network

Who can apply?
Publishers, editors, and literary agents from publishing houses from the South Caucasus and the Republic of Moldova including conflict-affected regions. Representatives from small publishing houses are preferred.

Costs
All costs for travel to Frankfurt, accommodation, and meals will be covered by the EU4Dialogue project.

How is the programme run?
Before the programme begins, online preparatory meetings are offered to get to know each other: Introductory meetings with presentations by the participating publishers and presentations by the German experts on the German book market, as well as tips on how to prepare for the Frankfurt Book Fair. On-site, the programme offers discussions with German experts on various topics, visits to foreign national stands and curated stages, participation in professional activities, and numerous international networking opportunities.

Application selection
Proposed applications will be selected by a jury put together by the Goethe-Institut Georgien. The results of the selection will be sent by email on 30.06.2023.
