Goethe-Gallery and Black Box Studio

Where we are, what we do

The Goethe-Gallery, located on the 14th floor of the Hong Kong Arts Centre, always brings new sight (and sometimes sound) to visitors who landed at the Gallery right from the elevators. With its triangular shape the gallery forms an interesting art space for exhibitions and art talks by local and German artists and arts practitioners.

We present on average eight to ten exhibitions a year at the Goethe-Gallery, including solo and group works ranging from photography to painting to video art to mixed media installation. Further to our own-initiated exhibitions, we also collaborate with our counterparts in Hong Kong and Germany on larger scale presentations which may involve more than one venue. Some of our exhibitions are topic-driven while some coincide with current affairs or happenings.

We welcome exhibition proposals from local and German artists.
