Onleihe: German Digital Library

The eLibrary is the virtual library of the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan in India. This service allows you to borrow digital media, such as ebooks, audio and video files, electronic newspapers and magazines, by simply downloading it on your computer, your tablet or your eReader.

Film Screening Platform

Goethe on Demand offers free online film programs, festivals, and series for streaming, accessible online and free of charge after registration.

Translation Programme

The Goethe-Institut’s grant programme “Translations of German Books into Other Languages” supports non-German publishers in publishing German-language literature, with the aim of making literary works accessible to non-German speaking readers.

Film archive

Our film archive contains over 500 German feature films in original version with English subtitles.Our collection covers a wide range of films, right from the expressionistic era to the most recent productions in German cinema.
They can be borrowed free of charge for non-commercial screenings by film clubs, film festivals, and other cultural and educational institutions of all regions in India.
