Mr Adamson

Urs Widmer

The 94-year-old first-person narrator makes an audiotape of his life story. As an eight-year-old he met the mysterious Mr Adamson, a ghost who is fatefully linked to him and who took him into the world of the dead for two days and nights. Escaping from the eerie realm of the dead, the narrator ends up in Greece, where a kindly policeman cycles him back to Basel in a flash. At the age of 70, he has another curious encounter with Mr Adamson.
