Drafts for a Third Sketchbook

Max Frisch

Max Frisch had been working on a third diary since 1982, which he dictated to his secretary Rosemarie Primault, who passed it on to the Max Frisch Archive after his death. In 2009 it was rediscovered and published despite its fragmentary character. Three central themes form the thread running through Frisch's streams of thought and the short texts: the Cold War era, the process of ageing and his relationship with Alice Locke-Carey and how he dealt with the death of his friend Peter Noll.
