Dorothee Elmiger

Dorothee Elmiger studied literature in Biel and Leipzig, as well as history and philosophy in Lucerne and Berlin. She wrote various articles in magazines and anthologies. In 2010 she was invited to the Ingeborg Bachmann Award, where she gave a reading from her novel published that same year, entitled Einladung an die Waghalsigen (Invitation to the Bold of Heart) and was awarded the Kelag Prize. The novel, along with her two subsequent publications, was nominated for the Swiss Book Prize. Aus der Zuckerfabrik (Out of the Sugar Factory; 2020) made it onto the shortlist for the German Book Prize. Dorothee Elmiger lives in Zurich.
