GOETHE-INSTITUT / MAX MUELLER BHAVAN CHENNAI announces the OPEN CALL for Participation in ‘Be Music BEEs 2020’ A Western Music Contest for South Asian Musicians on the Occasion of 250 Years of BEETHOVEN – An Exuberance in 2020 A virtual Musical Week celebrating the Titan & Icon of Western Classical Music
Musicians (instrumentalists) professionally trained in Western Classical Music from the South Asian countries (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) are welcome to present their talent and participate in ‘Be Music BEEs 2020’ music contest in one of the following categories:
Inspired amateur BEEs (less than 5 years of training /performing)– 3-8 min. rendering of your favorite Beethoven’s composition
Inspired professional BEEs (well trained and performing)– 3-8 min. rendering of your favorite Beethoven’s composition
Versatile BEEs – 3-8 min. rendering of your creative interpretation of Beethoven’s composition

How to participate?
- Understand the rules of the music contest
- Make a Video recording of your music rendering
- Publish the video on your own social media and TAG Goethe-Institut Chennai
- Submit your Entry by furnishing complete details in the Google-Form @ www.bit.ly/bemusicbee
- Final Date of Submission is 5th December 2020
Rules of the competition:
- Open to all musicians from South Asia who have been professionally trained in Western Classical Music.
- Age no bar for participation.
- Participants may choose to submit their entry for any of the categories mentioned above.
- Only one entry is accepted per participant, per category.
- The face, hands and the musical instrument must be clearly visible in the video recording.
- The video must be shot in landscape mode (not portrait mode).
- The video must not be edited and must be published in its raw form.
- The duration of the video must be between 3 and 8 minutes.
Tips for video recording:
- Recommended video quality is 720 p.
- Record using a DSLR camera or iPhone for better quality video.
- Avoid background noise for quality audio.
