Guided Tree Walks

Explore Chennai's lush urban greenery with our Guided Tree Walks, led by experts fromNizhal, a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing the city's green spaces.

Join us on June 16th and 23rd, 2024, from 07:00 to 08:00 AM for a unique opportunity to discover the diverse tree species of Chennai and learn about their ecosystems.

The tree walks will start at Alliance Française of Madras and end there, withbreakfastserved, followed by the exhibtion guided tour onTravelling Plants.This event is open to individuals aged18 yearsandabove.

"Travelling Plants,"is a collaborative project byGoethe-Institut,the French Institute of Pondicherry, andAlliance Française of Madras, to explore plant migration and its human impact. The exhibtion will be showcased fromJune 14th to 29th, 2024atAlliance Française of Madras.

Nizhal, established in 2005, promotes urban greening by focusing on indigenous tree species and regenerating local biodiversity. They engage local communities and stakeholders in a collaborative greening process.

During the workshop, participants will:

  • Take a guided tour to explore and appreciate Chennai's urban green spaces
  • Enhance observation skills to capture the details of various plants
  • Learn techniques for fostering a deep and meaningful connection with nature
