Jayashree Joshi

Jayashree Joshi was born on December 13, 1966. After completing her Masters in German Literature, she went on to do her Masters in Philosophy in German Literature at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. After teaching German at the All India Tourism Management Institute, New Delhi, she took up the role of Programme Coordinator at Goethe-Institut /Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi for ten years. Since 2006 she is the Programme Coordinator of Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai.
Skilled in diverse regional languages such as Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit as well as English and German, she has translated several German poetry and plays into Hindi, Marathi and English. She has also written and published poetry in Marathi and been a co-translator of Hindi poetry into German and English as well as Marathi plays into German.
