Convid-19 did change our lives, no matter where we live. Nerissa Abu Hanna and Heinrich Voelkel used the matters of photography to document the the circumstances of daily life in Jordan and Germany during the Corona outbreak.
Through combining emotional, private and documentary approaches to the theme and the permanent exchange between the two, they arrived at a highly subjective way of experiencing their worlds together.
By combining their visions they try to recreate the feel and look of Jordan and Germany rather unified by the world change. But, as it is sometimes not clear, what is where, the onlooker needs to decide themselves how universal loss, fear and salvation are to be experienced.
My name is Nerissa Abu Hanna, and to be completely honest every time someone asks me to describe myself I have to pause for a second. You see, I have many interests and passions in life, some might see me as an Architect, others might see me as an Artist, a Photographer, a Cinematographer, a Director and quite recently after my last initiative that grew drastically over a couple of weeks, many can now describe me as an environmentalist. And for me I don’t expect this to ever end, as I will always enjoy exploring new things expanding my knowledge. However one thing that would best describe me is my love for life and all what it offers.
Heinrich Voelkel ( born 1974 in Moscow) is a photographer, whose work deals predominantly with the living realities of his fellow men. His work fascinates through moments of rest, which incorporate the past as well as the future, pain and hope. He works and lives in Wiesbaden.
