Step 1: Are you a member of the library?

You can find out about the library's terms of use on our website and fill out this form in advance to enter the most important data for your registration and confirm your e-mail address in advance. Then come by within the following 7 days to complete the enrollment process. The library team will also be happy to inform you during a personal visit. If you are already a member of the library, you can proceed directly to step 2.

Step 2: Have you already registered on Mein Goethe.de?

If you have not registered on Mein Goethe.de, you can now comfortably create your own account online . You will use the same login credentials from Mein Goethe.de for the online-catalogue. Furthermore, you can use your Mein Goethe.de account to access all other personalized online products of the Goethe-Institut from the language, culture and library departments. If you had earlier registered on Mein Goethe.de, you do not need to register afresh. Simply proceed to step 3.

Step 3: Have your account activated!

In order to activate your account, the library team needs the e-mail address that you used to create your Mein Goethe.de account. Please fill out our registration form and send it back to the library. Once the library team receives your registration form, you will be informed as soon as your account for the online-catalogue has been activated. The activation is usually done within two working days.

Login to the Online-Catalogue of the Library

The online-atalogue (OPAC) of our library offers you the opportunity to browse through our entire media collection from wherever you are: books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and other e-resources.

If you have a valid library membership, you can use your credentials to log in to the online-catalogue. The personalized use of the OPAC makes the following possible for you:

Viewing of all the media you have borrowed, including their return-dates.
Extension of the lending period for the media you have borrowed
Viewing of all the fines due for payment
Making of suggestions of media you would like the library to acquire
Giving direct feedback about the library collection
Viewing of all the media you have borrowed in the past.

In order to use the personalized functions of the online catalogue, you need a valid library membership as well as a free registration on Mein Goethe.de.
