Freelance Graphic Designer (M/F/D)

The Goethe-Institut is the globally active cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and cultivate international cultural cooperation.

The EU co-financed project “Living and Working in Germany” provides support for preparing to live in Germany, especially for qualified professionals aiming to obtain a job in Germany.

We are looking for a graphic designer with skills in illustration for the visual identity, conception of design elements and the layout of our booklet, a corresponding poster and other possible promotional materials for the project “Living and Working in Germany”, starting in August.

Target group and content:
The booklet is intended for individuals, predominantly women, who plan to migrate to Germany, for the purpose of family reunification. Due to their young age and their biographical and socio-economic background, a portion of this group is particularly vulnerable. Important information about initial steps in Germany, coping with the challenges of adaptation and integration, as well as legal rights, are presented to this target audience. The booklet also comprehensively informs about governmental and non-governmental counseling and assistance services in Germany and is specifically aimed at young women.

Assignment:
The booklet will consist of approximately 20 pages and is to be formatted in an A5 layout. The graphic designer should conceptualize a visual identity for the booklet, poster and possibly other promotional materials and create approximately twenty illustrated, standalone (cut-out) design elements (keywords: people, diversity, welcoming, friendly, colorful, young, modern, lively) as well as a suitable front and back cover, following the guidelines of our corporate design. The booklet should be ready for printing upon completion of the assignment.
