In a small village in the north of East Germany, two years after the reunification, two underage sisters are missing. But in a declining village where everyone dreams to escape to the West, this seems hardly a surprise.
The two investigators Markus Bach (Felix Kramer) and Patrick Stein (Trystan Wyn Puetter) try to get to the bottom of it. Although the inhabitants of the village refuse to cooperate and talk to the investigators, piece by piece the two discover a series of lies and cover-ups. And while on the trail of the perpetrators, they find themselves in mortal danger.
