Director: Wolfgang Becker

Shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Christiane Kerner falls into a coma and wakes up eight months later in a country overrun by capitalism. The dedicated GDR citizen is not allowed to find out - her heart is too shaken. Her son Alex stages the old GDR for his bedridden mum, even faking the news on "Aktuelle Kamera" with the help of amateur videographer Denis. The closer reality comes to Christiane, the more creative Alex's ideas for reinterpreting reality become. Without further ado, he invents a completely different version of the historical events for her, as they happened in 1989/90.
