The Philippine German Language Teachers' Conference (DLT) entered its fourth round! Last 2022, participants joined our virtual workshop series under the theme "Teaching Skills in Series", where they enhanced their teaching methods, connected with fellow educators, and engaged with support organizations. The workshops took place from May 14 to June 4, 2022.

Teaching Skills in Series

DLT 2022 took place digitally on three consecutive Saturdays between May 14 and June 4, as a workshop series under the theme “Teaching Skills in Series”.

In a Mentimeter survey, the German teachers selected the topics of our three Saturday workshops as the most important topics for them:
  • Listening comprehension
  • Vocabulary work
  • Cultural studies
  • Digital teaching tools were of course still a focus of the offered workshops.

Day 1: Saturday, May 14, 2022
From 16:00 to 17:30, the workshop entitled “Das alles ist Deutschland! German Songs in the German Classroom” led by Demet Üngör, Christoph Felberbauer and Volker Schlieske from the German-European School in Manila (GESM). The workshop, which was held in English, focused on how German songs can be used effectively in German lessons to teach cultural aspects and promote learners' understanding of the language.

Day 2: Saturday, May 21, 2022
The workshop “Vocabulary Work with Digital Tools” was conducted by Prof. Nina Agcaoili and Lisa Goddard-Paz from the Department of European Languages, German Section, University of the Philippines Diliman.
