The extensive reliance on paperwork in German offices came as a surprise. While this was somewhat expected, what truly astonished me was the level of detail required for even the most mundane tasks.

The Artist: Aisha Franz

Aisha Franz © Aisha Franz Aisha Franz is a freelance comic book artist and illustrator based in Berlin. Her latest graphic novel “Work-Life Balance" was awarded the Max and Moritz Prize for best German-language comic in 2022 and was nominated at the FIBD Angoulême. Her book “Shit Is Real" was nominated for the L.A. Times Book Award in 2019. She co-runs the residency project CLUBHOUSE together with Berlin-based print studio and publisher Colorama.
