The Science Film Festival 2023 is an official partner of the United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Restoration. The theme is a call to protect and restore ecosystems around the world.
The UN Decade runs from 2021 to 2030, which is also the timeframe for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and scientists see it as the last chance to prevent catastrophic climate change. Ecosystem restoration is about supporting the revitalisation of damaged or destroyed ecosystems and preserving those that are still intact.
Festival start in autumn
This year, the festival received 1.700 films from 102 countries across the world. The official selection will be published by organisers on the official website of the Science Filmfestival.The Science Film Festival takes place from 01 October to 20 December and invites viewers to see the best in international science communication.
