Students from four different PASCH/ Fit schools embarked on a virtual journey as part of the project "We discover Colombia, Peru and Pakistan!".
The aim of the exchange was to get to know other regions. In addition, intercultural communication and exchange was to be enabled through concrete projects. The mediator was the German language. Thus, students from Pakistan communicated with people from Peru in German and thus learned about German as a foreign language contexts outside of Germany. What connected the students was their common interest in the German language and culture, as the participants talked about their own culture and country in German.
In joint sessions, which could be implemented via ZOOM, the teachers exchanged ideas about the topics and the implementation of the project. Working with the students, they created travel guides and presentations on the cultural characteristics of the respective countries. The students learned that in Pakistan people like to eat bun kabab or that in Cali it is worth visiting the Boulevard of the River, the Gold Museum or the San Francisco Church.
The following schools participated in the project: Max Ludwig Planck School (Peru), Institución Educativa Jorge Isaacs (INEM), The C.A.S School and the Roots International School and Colleges (Pakistan).
