Premiere of the extended version

"BODIES UNBOUND is a poignant dance theater production exploring the intricate interplay between the human body and gender. This project fearlessly confronts the harsh realities that women endure daily, encompassing sensitive topics like rape, miscarriage, harassment, abuse, breast cancer, prolonged pregnancies, childbirth, and the challenges of single motherhood. At its heart, "BODIES UNBOUND" emphasizes the power of teamwork, showcasing the collective strength that emerges when individuals unite to address these pressing issues. Through dance and theater, this project serves as a powerful testament to the indomitable spirit of women, inspiring audiences with their stories of triumph over adversity."

This award-winning theater and dance project was premiered on January 31st 2023 at the Goethe-Institut Kigali. Since then it has won the "Best project" award at the Goma Dance Festival and three additional prizes after performances in Brussels. As the theater is going on a second tour to the DRC and Europe this summer, we are excited that the play will be performed at our institute in an extended version.
