The Companion volume to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is available in Thai!
In 2022, the Goethe-Institut Thailand took the initiative to have the CEFR Companion volume translated into Thai.The aim was and is to provide German teachers in Thailand, colleagues from the Thai Ministry of Education and language mediator organizations working in Thailand with current considerations and principles of modern language teaching in their mother tongue..
On September 28, 2024, the Goethe-Institut Thailand, in collaboration with the Alliance Française and the French Embassy, celebrated the official launch and handover of the Thai version of the CEFR Companion volume.The event provided an opportunity for German and French teachers to learn about selected contents of the Companion volume and discuss its usefulness together.The event also included an exchange of views with German and French experts as well as representatives from the Thai Ministry of Education, which is a driving force in establishing, raising and safeguarding standards in language teaching at Thai schools and universities.
The Goethe-Institut Thailand is grateful for the great interest in the Thai translation of the CEFR companion volume and is confident that this will be of particular benefit to language teachers of European languages at schools and universities.
