Direct University Admission (Alternative to Studienkolleg)

Even if you do not have a direct university entrance qualification (HZB), you can still apply to some German colleges or universities directly after graduating from high school.

Here we show you which requirements you must fulfil.

School graduates from non-EU countries do not always have to attend a preparation course if they do not have a direct university entrance qualification.

Some colleges and universities offer alternative options and programs for international school graduates without HZB in Germany.

Prerequisites for this are usually a language aptitude test (TestDaF, Goethe-Zertifikat, DSD etc.) as well as a subject aptitude test (TestAS).

One of the advantages of this alternative is that you can already take the necessary exams in your home country. In contrast, with the Studienkolleg these exams are only taken on site in Germany.
