Deutschstunde

The portal for DaF teachers

Deutschstunde is the portal for teaching materials of German as a foreign language, advanced training and magazine language. Contact with other teachers via local communities is just a few clicks away.

Sustainability in the foreground

In Southeast Asia, the Goethe-Institut strives to implement its activities in the most resource-efficient and sustainable way possible, based on the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (SDGs). With our programs for international cultural and educational exchange, we raise awareness among people of different generations. Education for sustainable development has become an integral part of our work. Here we give you an overview of our education projects with a sustainability focus.

Network Climate

In early August 2022, more than 30 young German learners and German teachers from six countries in Southeast Asia came to Thailand to develop ideas that could solve very specific environmental problems in their city or school. This exchange took place within the framework of the regional project "Netzwerk Klima", through which the educational activities of the Goethe-Institut Thailand were linked to sustainability issues.

Video clip competition “Consumption and responsibility”

What does responsibility and sustainability in food mean to you? The contestants from our videoclip competition “Consumption and responsibility” have shared their ideas and wishes with us. Take a look at the videos of the winners Praiya Leewanun and Taratip Suthaphun in which they present how to deal with the Verpackungsmüll bei Lebensmitteln and what we can do to encourage the responsible consumption.

Deutschmobil

The “Deutschmobil” is a mobile unit which promotes the teaching of German as a subject in Thai secondary schools. A Thai-German team of young teachers from the Goethe-Institut, who travel to the schools in a VW van.

Education for sustainable development
Learning German on the Chao Phraya

Water pollution doesn't concern me? No one can say that after the river trip on the Chao Phraya. The Goethe-Institut Thailand invited seven schools to get their own impression of the river's water quality and to better understand why environmental problems also affect their own environment.

Sustainability
PASCH youth camp in Khao Lak

From November 14th to 22nd, the Goethe-Institute Thailand organized a youth camp for 40 PASCH-Students in Khao Lak. Dedicated teenagers in classes M5 and M6 took part in action-orientated German classes and got to know each other and their environment in creative Workshops on the subject of ,,sustainability''.
