FROM GERMANY TO LA presents an unmissable celebration of electronic sounds and visuals, delivered by a diverse lineup of DJs and performers from Germany and Los Angeles.
Saturday, October 6th The Globe Theatre, marks the second day of the two-day festival with visual enhancement from
CLOAKING, delivering a unique LA/Berlin blend of 3D-mapping and lighting, plus projections by German artists
Lisa Wassmann and
Valquire Veljkovic, as well as a photobooth. The festival artwork was designed by rising star illustrator
Opashona Ghosh(Kolkata/London/Berlin) and
Tom Singier (Paris/Berlin), founder of Serigraffeur – there will be more visual art to discover on the night.
- 9:00 PM: Kim Anh, Tensnake, Mouse on Mars live, and DJ Koze
- 10:00 PM - 3:00 AM: FROM BERLIN TO LA floor with Nine Inch Nilina, Anna Cavazos, Byrke live, and Vulinej, lights and visuals by CLOAKING
This second night of the festival lets you (re)discover the Berlin electronic musical landscape, and demonstrates its strong sisterhood with the contemporary LA scene. The FROM BERLIN TO LA floor features sets from DIY jetsetter
Nine Inch Nilina (LA/BERLIN/ROW), and the DJ, vocalist, producer, and label owner
Anna Cavazos (LA/NYC/BERLIN), plus Roam Recordings’
Vulinej aka Jeniluv collaborating live with experimental German artist
Byrke Lou. The upper stage hosts LA essential
Kim Anh, Coma Cat’s
Tensnake (HAMBURG/LA), a highly anticipated new live show from
Mouse on Mars, and and finally Germany’s own
DJ Koze, who recently released his acclaimed album Knock Knock.
FROM GERMANY TO LA is part of the
Year of German-American Friendship 2018/19 – a comprehensive and collaborative initiative of the
Federal Foreign Office, the
Goethe-Institut, and with the support of the
Federation of German Industries (BDI). The two-day festival is presented in partnership with Dublab, Reclaim the Beats Festival, and Your Mom's Agency – the Berlin platform behind the pioneering FROM BERLIN TO LA events in 2016 and 2017.
