This evening takes you on a journey through the exceptional life of legendary German-American actress and singer Marlene Dietrich (1901–1992).
Learn more about her life starting from the humble beginnings of her career in Berlin´s Roaring Twenties, the emigration to the USA, to her status as the highest paid actress of her generation in Hollywood. Tonight's speaker is Peter Bali, a life-long fan of Marlene Dietrich. Born in Hungary, he moved to Kansas City three years ago from Budapest. Peter studied German literature and history in both Budapest and Berlin. He wrote his thesis on the Golden Twenties in Berlin, focusing on art, film, and music.
